Percussionist Brandon Mooney is an active performer, educator and arranger currently located Toronto, Canada.  A native of Saskatchewan, Canada, he has established a strong reputation for the growth and promotion of youth percussion programs, with extensive teaching and performing experience throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.    

A versatile musician, Mooney has been heavily involved playing in drum lines in the Drum Corps International circuit. He has toured/performed in over 30 states  with Pride of the Lions (Regina, Saskatchewan), Dutch Boy (Kitchener, Ontario), and the World Class Finalist Blue Stars (Lacrosse, Wisconsin).    As an orchestral musician, he has performed with Orchestra London Canada, and Stratford Symphony, in addition to many chamber ensembles.  Brandon has performed at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC) with the University of Texas Wind Ensemble, as well as the UT Percussion Ensemble as a winner of the International Percussion Ensemble Competition.  Regarding composition, his original composition, "Blink,"  is a provincial awarding winning solo and was selected to be performed at Canada's National Music Festival.  Mooney has been a finalist in the Orchestra Toronto, Marty Hidy Concerto Competition as well as the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.  

As a percussion educator in Texas, Brandon taught 40 students a week within the Round Rock ISD, ran the Cedar Valley Middle School Percussion Ensemble, and taught the highly recognized Round Rock High School Drum Line.  Additionally, he currently serves as the front ensemble arranger for the Blue Diamonds Drum and Bugle Corps in Nienhagen, Germany.  Brandon has previously served as the Drumline Director for the University of Western Ontario Marching Band, Adjudicator for the Canadian Drumline Association, Percussion Arranger for MDC Indoor Drumline of Salzburg, Austria, percussion staff with Guardians Drum and Bugle Corps, and has worked with several additional percussion programs throughout Southern Ontario, and Central Texas.  

Brandon holds a Bachelor of Music degree with Honors in Music Education, and an Artist Diploma from Western University in London, Ontario, Canada, and a Masters Degree in Percussion Performance from the University of Texas at Austin.  Primary instructors include Chris Worthington, Jill Ball, Tom Aungst, Thomas Burritt, and Tony Edwards.
